Design at Messenger

I worked on two projects to (1) improve admin moderation and safety and (2) foster a sense of community and connection on Community Chats.

Here are some things I worked on:

  • Shipped designs to improve how admins moderate community chats.

  • Drove strategy by creating a product brief detailing the foundational experience for an end-to-end badging feature.

  • Collaborated with creative team on illustrations and badge designs,.

  • Validated ideas through user research and presented them to stakeholders to gain alignment and prioritization.

  • Audited the current experience on Community Chats and identified opportunities to simplify the product.

Reflecting on my time at Messenger

Messenger is an amazing place to rigorously improve your craft, interaction, and visual design skills. I’m grateful for the opportunity to tackle important product problems, design complex interactions, and learn from so many talented designers at Meta. Going to critiques, attending office hours, and having casual 1:1 chats allowed me to think more critically about my role as a designer and how to constantly improve my craft.
